Details: REGISTRATION DEADLINE: October 3, 2025 CREDITS: 3.5 Contact hours - Wastewater Operator COST: Members $90.00 Non-Members $125.00 / Coffee, water and breakfast will be provided COURSE: This training workshop, titled "Responsibilities of Clean Water Professionals", introduces the Wastewater Operator Code of Ethics, identifies elements of sustainable asset management, reviews cybersecurity & emergency planning for wastewater systems, and provides an overview of the laws, rules and regulations that impact a certified wastewater operator in Pennsylvania. During the workshop, instructors guide attendees through a group exercise that presents "worst case scenario" conditions at a wastewater treatment facility caused by inadequate operation and maintenance of the facility by the permittee/owner and the certified wastewater operator. Attendees consider the scenario as an "ethical" consulting certified operator, using the information from the training to develop a strategy for effectively communicating existing facility conditions to the permittee and regulatory authorities and present corrective actions to bring the facility into compliance with the requirements set forth in the NPDES Permit and Department rules & regulations. Upon conclusion of this course, attendees will be ready to accept and carry out the responsibilities and rewards of being a Clean Water Professional.
